It is not quite the same, but a very unique thing to say: ‘I grew up in Little India (Singapore), and I said Yes to a man from India.”

These are the words from Jennel, a Singaporean bride that was about to tell me more about this unique long distant relationship that started when they first met in each other in Vietnam while on their own holiday itinerary.

“Gowtham is now working and based in the US, so I’ll be in charge of planning the wedding here in Singapore.”

After listening to the stories, I knew that the couple had gone through challenges that made them appreciate each other more.

It was all reflected upon and said during the solemnization ceremony too. The ceremony was conducted by Mr Lim Tze Beng, whom like myself, are honoured to be part of this interracial wedding celebration.
